Subsidiaries and Facilities in Europe

Almaty, Kazakhstan
Talgo performs complete maintenance operations of Talgo night trains property of Temir Zholy, Kazakhstan Railway Administration, since 2002 in the city of Almaty. In 2004, Talgo created a permanent establishment called “Talgo Kazajstán” where its main activity is:

  •     complete maintenance of the Talgo rolling stock
  •     maintenance and repair of maintenance equipment
  •     maintenance of the installations


The Talgo trains in Kazakhstan cover daily services between Almaty – Astana and Almaty – Shinkent.

 

Berlin, Germany
Talgo Deutschland GmbH
The head office of this Talgo subsidiary is located in Berlin, and its activity is concentrated on the full maintenance of the Talgo trains belonging to Deutsche Bahn, as well as the commercial and sales activities in Germany and surrounding countries. It is also the after-sales service facility for the Talgo maintenance equipment in Germany and Switzerland.

The introduction of the Talgo products in Germany and in general in Central Europe is not limited to the well-known night trains that link Munich with Berlin and Hamburg on a daily basis, but also the under-floor Wheel Lathes and the Measuring Equipment for the Control and the Maintenance of wheels, designed and built by Talgo, which are installed in many railway workshops in these countries and enjoy a prestige that is growing day by day.

 

Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina
The Bosnia and Herzegovina factory project provides commercial services of nine latest generation trains for night and day services that will re-establish the railway connections that existed in Bosnia and Herzegovina before the war in the former Republic of Yugoslavia. They cover daily services from Sarajevo to Zagreb, Belgrade, Lujviana as well as intercity domestic services in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The future maintenance facility is located in the Rajlovac workshop in the city of Sarajevo and has the maintenance equipment of the Talgo design and manufacture to offer a high quality services that include:

  •     complete maintenance of the Talgo rolling stock
  •     maintenance and repair of the maintenance equipment
  •     maintenance of the installations

Seattle is the US headquarters for the US Subdiary Company, Talgo Inc.  The Corporate offices located at 505 5th Avenue South, Suite 170, Seattle, WA 98104 are within walking distance to Talgo's maintenance facility located at: 1717 3rd Avenue South, Seattle, WA  98134.

 

Parent Company Main Offices

Madrid
Talgo’s head offices are located 15 miles (24 km) from Madrid on the A6 road.

The Group’s General Management, Financial Management, Management Control, Human Resources, Purchasing Department, Sales and Marketing as well as the Technical Office for the design and engineering of Talgo Trains are all located in these offices.

 

Manufacturing

Las Matas II
The Talgo factory “Factoría de Las Matas II” is located in Las Rozas, 24 kilometres from Madrid, on the A-6 motorway.

Manufacturing of locomotives, powerheads, bogies, maintenance equipment and overhaul and modernizations of Talgo coaches are carried out in this factory.


Rivabellosa

Rivabellosa, within the province of Alava, is adjacent to Miranda de Ebro, 200 miles (325 km) from Madrid on the A1 Highway.

Since 1964, the complete manufacturing of the Talgo passenger coaches has been carried out at this factory.

 

 

 

Maintenance facilities

Talgo Inc. maintenance facilities are in a shared facility with Amtrak.  Talgo currently maintains a fleet of 7 trainsets operated by Amtrak servicing the Cascades Corridor.

 

Maintenance facilities


Barcelona
Maintenance operations are carried out for intercity and long-distance Talgo trains that have an origin and/or destination in Barcelona as well as the international Talgo services to Paris, Geneva, Zurich and Milan and daytime services to cities in the Mediterranean corridor, Andalusia, Extremadura, the Cantabrian Coast and many others within the interior of the mainland, as well as Montpellier.

Fuencarral
Located in Madrid, next to Chamartin station, full maintenance operations are carried out for the Talgo 350 (AVE S-102) trains, currently providing high speed services on the Madrid-Valladolid High Speed line, Talgo 250 (ALVIA S-130), currently providing high speed and intercity services to various destinations in Spain.

Las Matas I
This Talgo Maintenance facility is located 15 miles (23 km) from Madrid on the A6, in Las Matas.

In this facility, located next to the Madrid-Villalba railway line, full maintenance operations are carried out for Talgo trains, providing day and night services, with origin and/or destination in Madrid for commercial services to virtually all major Spanish cities, as well as Lisbon and Paris.

Malaga
In Malaga, 3 miles (5 km) from the town center, is the Talgo maintenance facility. Its location, next to the Railway line Madrid-Malaga, allows a fast communication with the Maria Zambrano Central Station.

This maintenance facility has 3 track pits, where the maintenance work on the high speed trains, Talgo 350 (AVE S-102) is performed.

 

 

 

 

Safety Mission Statement

Talgo, Inc. (“Talgo”) is committed to provide innovative and comprehensive equipment and services to its clients in a safe and healthy environment. This policy applies to all individuals including assigned contractors engaged to perform activities required to provide such products and services. It is the intention of Talgo to treat basic Federal and state safety and health regulations as a minimum standard. More specifically, maintenance services performed will meet or exceed all applicable codes, statutes, rules and regulations promulgated by Amtrak or any Federal or state governmental agency.

Talgo’s management in coordination with our Safety Committee has defined applicable safety and health policies and procedures, set goals, monitor its compliance, and enforce them in the most rigorous manner. Such policies are part of the Business Management System of the company. Safety and health policies will apply not only to Talgo’s personnel, but also to all Amtrak staff, subcontractor’s workforce, including vendors, inspectors, and auditors working on its premises. However, it is the responsibility of all personnel to maintain a safe and healthy workplace. All levels of management are accountable for carrying out health and safety responsibilities and it is important to stress the importance of consultation and co-operation between management and staff for effective implementation of these policies.

Each employee performing work under Talgo’s management supervision will be properly trained and will obey safety practices and rules, and use all proper safety devices and protective equipment. Disciplinary actions will be taken to assure that employees comply with safe and healthy work practices.

Safety practices relate to how personnel:

  •     Conduct their duties
  •     Facilitate other employees to work safely
  •     Operate tools and equipment in a proper manner
  •     Keep the working area free of potentially unsafe materials


Talgo is committed to regular reviews of the policy and to monitor its effectiveness, as well as to provide reasonable and adequate funds to ensure a safe workplace.
